The First Day of Foran-lencten
The festival begins with Awakening Day, dedicated to the awakening of Gerd, the Goddess of the frozen Earth of the cultivated enclosure, and her symbolic retrieval by Ing-Frea, the god of fertility and growth.
This festival officially begins with the sundown on the day upon which the Full Moon is visible at Dusk. In 2025 we have placed it at Sundown on the 13th of February.
Nine nights later when the wedding of the god and goddess is sanctified by Woden, will be the celebration of Bēacnbærning or Biikeenbrennen.
