So, it’s not exactly the same thing described here, but it might be related. Here’s a reference to a white stone or pebble having been ritually deposited into well in the Netherlands

I just harvested some wild-growing grass grains and bound them with a grass stem cord. It’s not exactly the same as a bound sheaf of cereal grains, but I think it still works symbolically.
