In the Ingvaeonic Society, we recognize those who have taken and passed our lore exam and registered with our global organization with the titles gesíþ (for men) or gesíþwífe (for women). These titles come from Old English, where they originally meant “Companion.” In the past, a gesíþ was a trusted companion and advisor to a leader, someone who was not just a follower but a key member of the community, essential to its strength and success. In our society, becoming a gesíþ or gesíþwífe means you have demonstrated your commitment to our traditions and values. You become part of the backbone of our Ferræden, the community from which we draw our leaders and ministers. Much like how other religions might recognize those who are “confirmed” or “baptized,” we honor our gesíþas as those who are deeply connected to our lore and are entrusted with the future of our community.

Gesith Status Application Process:
- Basic Knowledge Course: Embark on your journey by taking our Basic Knowledge Course, designed to provide you with a foundational understanding of Ingvaeonic Heathen culture, traditions, and beliefs. This course is a prerequisite for Gesith level membership and ensures that you have a solid grasp of the essential aspects of our religious community. You will need to register an account on this site!
- Course Administration Fee: To cover the costs associated with administering the Basic Knowledge Course, there is a nominal fee of $10.00 USD. This fee helps maintain the quality of our educational resources and ensures a seamless learning experience for all participants.
- Apply for Gesith Status: Upon successful completion of the Basic Knowledge Course, you are invited to apply for gesith status with a short form. This step formalizes your commitment to our community and allows you to fully engage in the activities and events available to Gesithas.
