I agree, we can clearly see that early Medieval Christianity in Western Europe had become “Paganized” almost to the extent that the pagans there had become “Christianized”.

Second edition of this modern translation of Bede’s “Reckoning of Time.” Comes out March 2025. Kind of pricey, but it is an important source and it is a fascinating read.
